Jean Paul Gaultier‘s advertising films are almost as iconic as the body shaped fragrance bottles, and 15 years after that first iconic on screen kiss, JPG Fragrances have reunited the lovers for the latest instalment of the saga. In “On The Docks”, Classique and Le Male fragrances have been personified by the beautiful Rianne Ten Haken and Jarrod Scott, who play the gorgeous girl and the sexy sailor who moves the earth (quite literally) to come kiss her. To the strains […]

Mary Katrantzou -one of my favourite designers – has collaborated with beauty brand Rodial on a limited-edition scented candle, set to launch in September. The candle features Mary’s signature colourful prints, and has top notes of orange and lemon, with sweet pineapple and orange blossom base notes. I think it’s absolutely gorgeous – almost to pretty to use! Mary Katrantzou x Rodial Candle will be available from September at Harrod’s, Selfridges, Harvey Nichols and Space NK and will cost £35.
If Chanel did flowers, they’d be the best flowers in the world. I’m so happy to announce that Chanel at Covent Garden is now no longer a pop-up, but a permanent boutique, the first of its kind for Chanel! To celebrate, the shop has undergone yet another make-over, this time to coincide with Mother’s Day next weekend. In front of the boutique, there will be a flower stall, which features some of the flowers that play an integral part of […]
Meet Shay & Blue, London’s newest boutique perfumery. The brainchild of Dom De Vetta (former Senior Vice President of Chanel and Global General Manager of Jo Malone – take that for a CV!) and perfumer Julie Massé, Shay & Blue is a new British fragrance house with a difference. Made by hand and with real flowers, fruits and spices, Shay & Blue use time-honoured artisanal expertise to create a number of timeless luxury scents available in both fragrances and candles – […]
I get given a *lot* of fragrances doing this job, but whilst I love cheating with different scents from time to time, I’m definitely a one-perfume kinda girl. I tend to fall in love with a scent and stick with it for a number of years (or until the bottle runs out). Those fragrances I love dearly are quite similar in essence: light, fresh and perfect for daily wear – you vaguely know it’s there, but it never overwhelms. I […]
A couple of months ago, I was invited to attend the top-secret launch of Jimmy Choo‘s new perfume Flash at the top of the amazing Gherkin. Now Flash has finally hit the shops and I can finally tell you all about it! Flash is Jimmy Choo’s second venture into fragrance (following the very successful Jimmy Choo perfume) and it perfectly compliments the brand’s aesthetic – sexy and luxurious. Creative Director Sandra Choi said: “We see fragrance as another accessory; we […]
Chanel opened its first ever beauty pop up in Covent Garden during the summer, and now, just in time for the festive season, the boutique has had a complete revamp and turned into a real fragrance haven. Fragrance lovers will rejoice at the extensive selection of Chanel perfumes on display (including all Les Exclusifs de Chanel) and will be able to get a one-to-one consultation to find their perfect match. There’s also the possibility to get a make up consultation […]
Say hello to Glam ‘N’ Soul, Thomas Sabo’s debut female fragrance. The fragrance was designed to compliment the label’s Sterling Silver jewellery range, especially with its beautiful, exaggerated charm-like bottle design. The fragrance was created by perfumer Geza Schön and has dominant notes of bergamot, lychee and pink pepper, whilst delicate rose, water lily and magnolia inject a sensual and feminine touch. Fans of the Thomas Sabo charms will love this one. Glam ‘N’ Soul costs £56,95 and is available […]
“The scent of gunpowder in an explosion of smoke and flint, clashes with the green energy of the jungle and the effervescence of spices.” Excuse me for just copy-pasting the official blurb, but quite frankly, I couldn’t find the right words to describe AMAZINGREEN – the new unisex fragrance from Comme des Garçons. To put it in my own, slightly simpler words: AMAZINGREEN smells a bit like a walk in the forest after a spring shower – lush. To celebrate […]
I told you about the Chanel beauty pop up in Covent Garden last week, and on Monday I was lucky enough to be invited to the opening of it. The pop up is situated in Covent Garden’s iconic piazza, and is Chanel’s first ever beauty-only pop up, featuring professional make up artists and a nail bar. Stepping inside a Chanel boutique can sometimes be a bit intimidating, and what I love about the pop up is that it’s in the […]
If you hadn’t noticed already, London will be the centre of the universe starting next week. The Olympics and all events around it, a Karl Lagerfeld pop up in Selfridges, and Chanel’s first UK beauty and fragrance pop up shop, in the heart of Covent Garden. On July 24th, Chanel’s pop up is opening its doors inside the iconic Piazza market building and will feature the first Chanel nail bar where you’ll be able to take your pick from Chanel’s […]
It seems like Balmain is undergoing a bit of transformation lately. Now under new Creative Director Olivier Rousteing (who is just 26!), the fashion house is exploring life after Decarnin, who revamped the label to one of the hottest labels around. As part of the new chapter in Balmain’s long history, they launched its latest perfume “Ivoire” this Monday at Claridges Ballroom in London – or should I say relaunched? Ivoire is actually a re-edition of Pierre Balmain’s 1979 signature […]
