To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Alexander McQueen‘s iconic skull scarves, the label has collaborated with artist Damien Hirst on a range of 30 one-off designs. Adapted from Hirst’s Entomology series, which hasbutterflies, bugs, spiders and other insects worked to form kaleidoscopic geometric shapes, these were then laid out to create the signature McQueen skull motif. I love art and fashion collaborations, and this one makes total sense to me, as Hirst’s aesthetic fits seamlessly onto the McQueen scarves.
The Damien Hirst x Alexander McQueen collection is obviously very limited edition, and available to buy in store and online now. The silk scarves are £380, the cashmere scarves are £715 – a great Christmas present idea for stylish girls perhaps? They’re so beautiful I’d probably just frame them and hang them as art!
