To celebrate the arrival of spring (well, technically), One Aldwych has revamped its afternoon tea with a floral theme, so I decided to test it out – it’s a hard job, but someone’s got to do it, right? I took my friend as a little birthday surprise, and we ate and drank tea until we could no more. I can only say it is an absolute treat (birthday or not)!
Executive Chef Dominique Teague has given the classic afternoon tea a flowery twist, with nibbles like Rosewater Jelly, Panna Cotta with Violet Leaves, Jasmine Smoked Salmon Roll, Lavender Brioche, Elderflower and Rhubarb Jam, and much much more – with every single item baked, infused, smoked,… in house. To go along with the food, there’s a range of floral teas (Earl Grey Blue Flowers, Camomile & Lavender, etc), as well as 4 specially created Floral Martinis (which I highly recommend!). As a whole, it makes for a perfect treat, which tastes every bit as good as it looks!
One Aldwych’s Floral Afternoon Tea is now being served in the Lobby Bar, booking required.
