Legendary Parisian cabaret Le Crazy Horse has opened its doors on the Southbank London and I was invited to attend a performance of their latest show, “Forever Crazy”. Walking in the beautiful, purpose-built Spiegeltent, you’re immediately transported into the naughty world of cabaret, with its plush velvet seats, 2 bars serving champagne and cocktails, mirrors and gold everywhere.
The 90-minute show features a bunch of different routines by the 10 dancers – from perfectly coordinated group dances to solo performances – some funny, some very seductive, and all very sexy in their own way. From the opening number “God Save Our Bareskins” where the girls perform a naughty Horse’s Guard Parade routine to the girl writhing on her lip-shaped sofa, the clever use of music, light effects, mirrors and outfits make the show elegant and entertaining to watch – even for the girls! It hardly ever crosses the line (once or twice I did think perhaps it had gone a tad too stripclub), but the Crazy Horse can teach anyone a real lesson in the Art of Seduction, and I would recommend a visit to anyone. The crowd was varied – there were couples, groups of (girl)friends, business folk and even a family (with over-age children, I should add).
And for the girls: there were shoes. Lots of beautiful, gorgeous, amazing Louboutin shoes. Not that any of the boys seem to notice…
