Last week I was invited by Chanel to cover the exclusive opening party for The Little Black Jacket exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery for Chanel News. I already wrote a post on the exhibition (click here for my review), so this post needs very little explanation: beautiful people, beautiful clothes and most of all, beautiful bags.
For me to be given free reign at a Chanel event is pretty much a bit like all my Christmasses rolled into one. With my trusty camera, I snapped away all night – the endless parade of Chanel bags carried by the guests was pretty much an exhibition in its own right. The guestlist included not only Karl Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfeld, who together created the amazing exhibition, but a long list of amazing personalities from the world of fashion, design, music and art, many of them proudly sporting their little black jackets.
Poppy Delevigne, Eva Herzigova, Edie Campbell, Astrid Berges-Frisbey, Kristen McMenamy, Tallulah Harlech, Kaya Scodelario, Stella Tennant, Jaquetta Wheeler, Lou Douillon, Florence Brudenell-Bruce, Bip Ling, Noomi Rapace, Haider Ackermann,… the list reads like a who’s who of the cool and edgy cream of the London crop.
At just 15 years old, Chloë Moretz proved there’s really no age limit to when it comes to a classic piece like a Chanel jacket, whilst Alice Dellal proved it is as punk as it is classic, as she proudly posed with her photograph on the wall, with mom Andrea proudly looking on.
As dream jobs go, this is pretty much it for me. I’m so grateful to have been asked by Chanel once again, and I dohope you like my snaps! I apologise for the picture overload – there’s actually a lot more over on the Alex Loves Facebook page – but in my opinion, you can never have too many Chanel pictures.
