Sometime earlier this summer – way before the Olympics, before I could sense a little bit of autumn in the air, long before the world got a glimpse of Prince Harry’s Crown Jewels, I was invited for an afternoon tea at Folli Follie to take a look at some slightly different kind of jewellery…
Folli Follie is one of those brands I’ve always known, yet seemed to have forgotten about in recent years, which is why events like this are a great way of rediscovering an old favourite. The reason for the event was the reopening of the revamped New Bond Street store, which features the brand’s trademark orange colour scheme and a huge selection of handbags and jewellery set over 2 floors. Its prestigious location, upscale interiors and beautiful collections might easily fool you into thinking this is a pretty pricey affair, but that’s where the real surprise lies – it’s not. The gorgeous rose gold stacking ring I got to choose, and which hasn’t left my finger over the past month, is just £68. Only a little bit above high street prices, but 100 times the quality… For my next trip I’ve got my eye on one of the leather woven bracelets. Or a watch. Or you know… pretty much everything.
