Opening Ceremony arrives in London

Typical. You wait for years for an Opening Ceremony to come to London, then 2 arrive at once. There’s the obvious one, that big event happening in East London this Friday, but – and I find this one even more exciting – cult New York boutique Opening Ceremony has finally opened its first London store in Covent Garden.

Starting with a pop up to capitalise on the Olympic rush on the newly fashionable King Street, Opening Ceremony will move to a permanent space just a couple of doors down in October. I’m a huge OC fan – I’ve flown to New York pretty much with the sole purpose of shopping there – so I couldn’t wait to stop by the pop up this weekend for a little browse. Although it’s a small space, I was happy to discover the usual mix of young designers, fantastic collaborations and uberfriendly (American) staff. Cannot wait for the full store to arrive!
