Fact: McQ is Alexander McQueen’s little brother no more. The diffusion line is finally getting the attention and credit it deserves and is coming out as a serious player. First, Sarah Burton took over as Creative Director for McQ, which seemed previously a little bit neglected. This was followed by the first ever McQ fashion show in February (which I got to attend, review here), then there’s the imminent opening of the very first standalone McQ boutique on Dover Street, and a serious ad campaign.
The black & white campaign was by David Sims and features models Aymeline Valade and Arthur Gosse and is another clear sign the label is profiling itself as an edgy and serious contender. There’s a ton of great pieces from the AW12 collection with my name on it, and I’m pretty excited to see McQ’s evolution in the coming seasons. Thumbs up from me!
What do you think of the campaign? Yay or nay?
