Topshop launches range of T-shirts by 20 NEWGEN alumni
To celebrate Topshop’s 10 year involvement with the NEWGEN scheme, they asked 20 of their most famous alumni to design a T-shirt, to be sold in shops and online from next week. NEWGEN is a scheme which helps young designers with financial aid, as well as providing them with a location to show their collections during London Fashion Week.
If anyone had any doubts as to how successful this scheme is, then reading the 20 names should settle those doubts – the list reads like a Who’s Who on a fashion hotlist! The designers are: Erdem, Mary Katrantzou, Christopher Kane, Gareth Pugh, Peter Pilotto, Roksanda Ilincic, Jonathan Saunders, Meadham Kirchhoff, Emma Cook, Holly Fulton, Michael Van Der Ham, Louise Gray, J.W. Anderson, Nasir Mazhar, Peter Jensen, Craig Lawrence, House of Jazz, Richard Nicoll and Ashish.
The t-shirts go for sale in stores and online on Feb 17 (Day 1 of LFW!), cost £30 of which £7 will be donated to CentrePoint, a charity which deals with homeless young people.
I love the Erdem one, obviously (above), Peter Pilotto and Mary Katrantzou. Which is your favourite?
