As part of the first International Fashion Showcase at London Fashion Week, 19 countries will open their embassies and cultural centres to the press and the public to introduce some of their finest young designers. My home country of Belgium is one of the participating countries, and at Showroom Belgium they will present the collection of 4 young talents: menswear designer Cédric Jacquemyn, WOLF. by Sofie Claes (above), a.KNACKFUSS and OMSK.

The showroom at Somerset House (East Wing, Ground Floor) will also feature an installation by cult conceptstore RA, and has an accompanying fashion film (see below) will be shown around London as part of the FASH/ON Film project. I’m very excited about going to see some of Belgium’s finest young designers, as well as discovering some new names from different countries. For a full schedule of who is doing what and where, please have a look here.

The International Fashion Showcase is yet another great initiative to support young talent by the British Fashion Council, proving once again why London Fashion Week is so relevant, and as it’s open to the public, it’s a great way for fashion lovers everywhere to get a taste of the industry.
