Polaroid Sunglasses turn 75!

Polaroid Sunglasses are celebrating a remarkable 75th birthday this year, and to commemorate the occasion, they’ve created a range of “heritage” sunglasses, based on frames from original Polaroid designs dating from the 1930s to the 1980s.

In addition, to mark the special year, they’ve also designed a new aviator frame called Seventy-Five, which I got to take home. I haven’t had aviators in a long, long time and I love the retro style and the anti-glare polarized glasses (which all Polaroid glasses have as standard). At the launch, we also got to see some pieces from their archives, which really shows the evolution of sunglasses in the past century. Very cool!

The new range is already for sale online here, and for every pair of sunglasses sold from this collection, Polaroid will make a donation to international charity Sightsavers, helping fund their work to eliminate avoidable blindness in some of the world’s poorest countries.

P.S. I do apologise for the quality of my pics, the room was very dark and taking snaps was a bit tricky… Polaroid Sunglasses ©www.alexloves.comPolaroid Sunglasses ©www.alexloves.comPolaroid Sunglasses ©www.alexloves.comPolaroid Sunglasses ©www.alexloves.com< center>Some of the Polaroid archive sunnies…
