This hot off the press: Mulberry has announced it is launching a new bag named after Lana Del Rey!

This is not a bad feat for a girl who’s been on the global radar for less than a year, so this bag will cement her status as a true music and fashion darling. The Del Rey bag is a classic, timeless Mulberry bag with a bit of a retro feel, not unlike Lana’s classic Hollywood style. Of her bag, Lana said: “I love the design, a perfect mix between old school Hollywood and contemporary style. It’s an honour that such a classic and prestigious brand would name a bag after me.”.

The Del Ray launches as part of the AW12 collection, and will come in Deer Brown Grainy Print, Black Forest Soft Matte, Black Soft Spongy and Petrol Veg Tanned Lambskin leathers as well as two Catwalk Collection editions in new luxe leathers Gold Large Metallic Snake Print and Ink Blue Sparkle Croc Print.

Lana Del Rey aside (I’m still on the fence there), I quite like the classic look of the bag – but will it bring as successful for Mulberry as the Alexa was? Only time will tell…
