In honour of 20 years of Hermès at Harrods, the luxury label has opened a pop up celebrating one of their most iconic accessories (no, not the Birkin!): the silk scarf. The luxurious printed silk scarves have been a vital part of Hermès since 1937 and have been a coveted must-have for generations of women (and men) ever since.

The pop up aims to attract a younger crowd, with stylists on hand to show you the scarves’ endless styling possibilities. And when I say endless, I mean endless… I sadly arrived in my gym gear, so didn’t really feel very glamorous, but my stylist quickly braided some scarves in my hair, and lined the hood of my sweater and turned my gym kit into a festival-worthy outfit in a matter of minutes. After being styled, you have the chance to get your picture taken and take it home for inspiration, although there’s no way I could ever recreate this look myself! Thankfully, the team at Hermès have created a little set of cards with easy looks for you to try, with handy illustrations on how to do them.

Alongside hundreds of scarves for you to try (and buy) and a great selection of the iconic enamel bracelets, there’s also a new print exclusive to Harrods, a “H” made out of suitcases, available in 2 colour schemes.

I always thought silk scarves were a little too “old” for me – my mom and grandmothers have dozens, and although I always love the prints (and the orange box they come in), I never knew how to make them work for me. The visit to the pop up really changed my idea of them. I’m so excited to start trying some of the techniques on my mom’s collection when I get home for Christmas, and maybe even steal a few to take back to London. Although after reading this, she’ll probably lock them up before I can get my greedy little hands on them…
