Elie Saab Le Parfum
My entire life I’ve very much been a one-perfume-kinda-girl: I was always very loyal to “my perfume” (not telling you which one) and would re-buy over and over again. These days – one of the big perks of my job – I get a LOT of perfumes as gifts, so my attitude has completely changed. I get to test perfumes I would have never tried before, and suddenly a whole new world has opened up for me.
A while back I received a bottle of Elie Saab‘s first ever perfume, simply named Le Parfum, interestingly accompanied by a DVD chronicling a behind the scenes look at the creation of his debut scent. The DVD shows the Beirut-born designer in the run up to his latest Couture show where he launched his debut perfume. It shows the story behind the making of the perfume – for example, it took 25 different bottle tops before Elie finally agreed to the shape of the beautiful bottle and the making of the advertisement (the face of the perfume is Anja Rubik). It smells woody and floral (I’m not going to attempt telling you which, I’m not that good at these things), and quite intense, definitely a perfume made to be worn on a glamourous night out (wearing an Elie Saab gown, of course. It’s definitely very feminine and completely compliments his clothes: chic and classy.
Elie Saab Le Parfum is available at all leading department stores like Debenhams, Harrods and Selfridges.
Prices start from £38 for the 30ml version.
