Introducing Alex Loves 2.0

Introducing Alex Loves 2.0

So I finally bit the bullet and completely redesigned Alex Loves over the weekend. With my 2 year blogiversary coming up next month, I thought it would be fun to freshen things up a bit – my content stays exactly the same though. It was long, difficult and not so much fun, but I’m pretty happy with the result.

I love clean, visual websites, so I opted for exactly that for my own – perhaps a little too clean, some have said :) Allow me to talk you through the new design a little bit: the top section is a slider which features the last 5 posts on the blog, you can scroll through them with the little arrows on the left and right, clicking on the image will take you straight to the post.

Below you’ll find the past 12 posts with a little excerpt from the post. The idea here is that I’m letting you choose what you want to read and ignore the things you’re not interested in. I was told that sometimes my old layout involved a bit too much scrolling, so now there’s no more of that. Once you click on an individual post, you’ll go to a “normal” blog layout, with all the usual features I had before on the side.

I’m a little nervous about this whole redesign, as I’ve never changed my layout since starting the blog almost 2 years ago. This might not be the final look, perhaps you’ll all tell me you hate it, perhaps I’ll miss my last layout and go back – it’s all a bit up in the air right now. I know there’s still a bunch of kinks to sort out, but I thought I’d introduce you to Alex Loves 2.0.

I would love to hear what you think, because there’s no blog without my readers, so in the end, you have the final say.

Alex
