Doing It Aussie Style

I have a soft spot for all things Australian at the moment. My other half is a real Aussie, I visited earlier in the year, and since then I’ve discovered and fallen in love with amazing fashion from Down Under.
Yesterday, I received this gorgeous dress from trendy Aussie label Toi et Moi (I know, doesn’t sound it, right?!). Then, completely unrelated and surprisingly, I was also gifted a pair of adorable ballerina’s by Sydney-based brand Sambag. What is even better, the two somehow completely work together as an outfit, so I decided to do a little outfit post on both.
Toi et Moi is the brainchild of Gill Lawrence who married a French man – hence the name and slightly French vibe. The collection is packed with cute, fun and, most importantly, wearable pieces any wardrobe needs. As the Aussie fashion scene works with different seasons, it’s a little complicated for the Northern hemisphere, so the dress I’m wearing is part of the Cruise collection – and will land at Harvey Nichols any day now! The design is simple – I love a good stripe any season – with a slightly nautical feel to it. It has a zip detail on the lower back and an open cut on the upper back. I am absolutely in love with it.
Sambag is an Aussie label launched in 1996 and has tons of celebrity fans. I was told by a friend their ballerina’s are immensely popular over there and I can see why: you have ballerina’s and you have ballerina’s. What I mean with that is you can have a similar looking one for £5, which fall apart after 3 wears and feel like walking barefoot. Sambag’s ballerina are proper shoes, with support on the back, a little heel on the bottom, beautiful leather (inside and outside) and a vast array of colours to choose from. They are launching in the UK soon – to some of my Aussie friends’ relief – so keep an eye out for Sambag!
That’s one London Fashion Week outfit sorted!

Although both the dress and shoes were gifts, my opinions are honest.
