Giles Deacon for Trees For Cities

Giles Deacon in the limited edition T-shirt

Independent charity Trees For Cities has called upon the incredible talent that is Giles Deacon to create a limited edition T-shirt for the participants of the 2011 Tree-Athlon.

On September 17th, Trees For Cities is holding its annual Tree-Athlon, which help raise awareness and money for the charity, which aims to beautify our urban spaces through tree planting, community-led design, education and training initiatives. The Tree-Athlon is a 5km run around Battersea Park, where each runner gets to take home a free sapling tree to take home and plant, and now also a limited edition Giles Deacon T-shirt.

About the collaboration, Giles says: ‘I come from the Lake District where nature is an integral part of growing up so I’m really pleased to be a part of the Trees for Cities 2011 Tree-Athlon, helping to raise awareness and money to plant trees in our inner city environment.‘

To find out more about the charity, the Tree-Athlon and how to enter, go to www.treesforcities.org. I’d be there to get my hands on one of those beauties, if it hadn’t been in the middle of London Fashion Week.
