Ok, so… I’m an online shopping junkie: I think that over the past few years, I think 80% of all my clothes have been bought online. It’s great, you can do it from the comfort of your own home, try on at leisure without the horrible fitting rooms, style it the way you would wear it and just send back if it doesn’t fit. There’s only one flaw with online shopping – it’s a bit of a lonely experience.

None of that “oh my goooood, look at my bum in this”, or “do you think this works together” shouted across the fitting rooms, it’s just you and your computer – until now. New website Motilo.com is hopes to change all that with a new, interactive and social shopping platform, where you and your friends can shop together via webchat (or normal chat) and create looks from the pieces in the shop, which are chosen by the Motilo stylists from hundreds of international websites, and (if approved by your friend), buy them.

Ok, so it’s still not quite “do I look fat in this?” or, “oh my god, that’s gooooorgeous”, because you still have to wait for your pieces to arrive like you would on any other website, but it definitely makes online shopping a little more fun. I spent about an hour creating some dream looks (if I only had a few £££ to spare…), some you can see below. As well as shopping with your own friends, the website wants to bring fellow fashionista’s together in a community, with great original content in the form of a magazine and of course linking them together on twitter and facebook.

Motilo.com is still in a beta version, but the finished version will be going live on Oct 1st, still, you can already join in on the fun.
