Lanvin Petite for Little Princesses

These days I often see little girls on the streets and I can’t help but feel jealous of how stylish they look aged just 4 or 5. But, my kids’ style-envy is about to get a LOT worse as Lanvin launches its first ever Lanvin Petite collection. Designed by Alber Elbaz himself, and with all the trademarks of his womenswear line, this is pretty much the most adorable kids’ range I’ve ever seen. Yes, I’d quite like every piece – for myself!

Very reminiscent of the main line, these are the perfect little dresses to create the most stylish mini-fashionista this planet has ever seen. They’re luxurious and beautifully designed, but still fun and a little cheeky at times – just the way kids’ clothes should be. Sure, perhaps Lanvin might be a little extravagant and over the top for kids that age, but little princesses need an outfit to match their mommy? Right?

There will also be four exclusive rag dolls dressed in pieces of the collection, proceeds of which will be donated to the charity Designing Hope.

I am an auntie to 4 lovely, gorgeous boys. Sadly, this is one of those moments where I’m a little sad I haven’t got a little niece to spoil rotten. In stores from November 2011.

Has anyone told Suri Cruise yet?

  • Wow these collection just screams Lanvin. Some of the clothes are cute but I have to say I hate the first picture. It ties in with the whole child-sexualization row and the commentry on feminist blogs about women’s sexuality being infantalized going on at the moment. The way the girl is posed in the picture is in a very adult way, her legs, arms, hands and facial expression is posed in a way an adult might. It reminds me of the famous album cover where a girl is lying in bed naked with the bedsheets over here and a young boy is sitting on the bed looking over his shoulder at her.

  • wow, well my daughter has just spotted these and has fallen in love with them!!! better get daddy’s credit card ready for a day out! :)
