Charles Tyrwhitt Flagship Opening

Sometimes I wish I was a boy. Walking into the brand spanking new Charles Tyrwhitt flagship store on the famous Jermyn Street was definitely one of those moments: I wanted pretty much everything for myself. The beautiful shop is spread over 2 floors, packed from top to bottom with the label’s trademark shirts, but it’s the other items that really caught my eye. Classic and quirky ties, trendy desert boots and deck shoes, even a wonderful collaboration with Harris Tweed for AW11.

To me, there’s nothing more attractive than a well-suited and booted man, but I often find that my generation of young men often don’t know how to dress to impress, and tend to stick to their ill-fitting M&S or other high street suits. It’s a bit uninspiring and just never looks quite the same as a beautiful Jermyn Street or Savile Row suit. I agree that most people probably can’t afford this, but that’s where Charles Tyrwhitt steps in. With all the quality and experience of a top tailor, the real surprise is the price. A shirt will set you back just around £30 – my boyfriend is a big fan so I know how good the quality is – which is pretty amazing, really. Perhaps this new shop on Jermyn Street can lower the threshold for young men everywhere to discover real tailoring for the first time, without the crazy prices. The staff is on hand to take your exact measurements so you can actually get the size you really are – this ain’t no S, M, L shop, there’s lots of collar and sleeve sizes to exactly fit every person individually.

For helping our boys look like dashing men, Charles Tyrwhitt get some major love from me.
