Press days are a perfect time to have some much-needed one-on-one time with your beloved collections. You get to touch, wear, ogle, drool,… in fact, the only thing you don’t get to do is take it home at the end of the day. Last week I was re-introduced to Maria Francesca Pepe‘s amazing AW11 collection Fortuna at the Trace Publicity press day. I know I’ve already covered the collection quite extensively after her quite dark and sinister presentation during London Fashion Week, but having some private time with the pieces has only deepened my love for it.

Although the LFW presentation was great to see the jewellery in context, it was actually good to see them on their own, in their full glory: beautifully crafted pieces, real little works of art. I’ve always loved Maria Francesca Pepe’s signature “jewellery-wear”, where clothes and jewellery pieces are intertwined. But this time this also evolved to shoes: jewellery on heels? Genius!

P.S. I heard through the grapevine one of the statement headpieces has just been used for the new video of a very big popstar… But you didn’t hear it from me, ok?
