WilliamVintage

On Monday I went to a press preview for the WilliamVintage sale happening in London this Thursday (04/11/2010). I don’t claim to know much about vintage, but even I can see that the pieces in this sale are all top notch.
WilliamVintage is the brainchild of interior designer William Banks-Blaney, who carefully selects every single piece in his sales, and his love for the product truly shows. Thursday’s sale boasts everything from original Balenciaga to Ossie Clark, Pierre Cardin to Courrèges, and about everything in between. The sale is happening in a beautiful Georgian house on Fitzroy Square, W1, where the clothes really seem to come to life. They are displayed by colour and theme, with huge handwritten tags, making them accessible for even the biggest vintage newbie like myself.
The coats proved to be the biggest draw of the night, with everyone trying on the grey Jackie O-esque coat and there was even a bidding war over a lovely camel cashmere Swing Coat, which no one won, as we’ll all just have to wait until tomorrow like everyone else. There on the night were Ree from Really Ree, Ashanti from Adorngirl and my gorgeous (and very tall for the evening) friend Katie Antoniou
Whether you’re a true vintage aficionado or just lover of clothes like myself, this sale will appeal to you. Everything is in immaculate condition, no granny attic smells here. There’s sizes from 6 to 16, there’s prices from affordable to crazy expensive. There’s a seamstress on hand to help you out with tailoring, and there’s the charming William Banks-Blaney around to tell you his honest opinion.
Tomorrow Nov 4th, 10am-8.30pm, 6 Fitzroy Square, W1 London
