Lulu Kennedy in her Louise Gray dress
In last night’s post I told you about Matches launching Lulu & Co during Fashion’s Night In. Well, the collection is up and as expected it’s a true celebration of the great talent coming out of Fashion East.
The woman behind the scheme, Lulu Kennedy, who has found, nurtured and helped launch some of the greatest young talents in recent years has launched her own line with some of her famous alumni to celebrate 10 years of Fashion East. Together they recreated a collection inspired by some of the most iconic pieces to have walked the London Fashion Week catwalks. The result is a breathtaking walk through recent fashion history.
Gareth Pugh, Jonathan Saunders, Louise Gray, Henry Holland, House of Jazz, Holly Fulton, Meadham Kirchhoff, Marios Schwab, Roksanda Ilincic and Richard Nicoll all contributed their iconic style for a series of limited edition dresses. The collection is available at Matches, Harvey Nichols and selected concessions worldwide as of today (don’t ask me which ones, I couldn’t find out…).
I’m in love. This is fashion history in nutshell, in a wearable, sleek, immaculately edited collection. Even better, prices have been kept very affordable, from a bargain £225 for the Holly Fulton printed maxi dress to £995 for the Gareth Pugh patent leather dress. If I had the pennies, I’d buy the entire collection, hang it on my walls and start my mini fashion museum.
