Today’s competition is something I’m quite excited about, because it’s BIG. As a Belgian I’m always happy to support other Belgians in fashion, as it’s one aspect of our country we can actually be really proud of. Kipling is a Belgian institution I grew up with as a kid. Everything from my school bags, my pencil case, my bum bags (it was the late 80′s/early 90′s, after all!) were all a bright coloured Kipling version, and collecting the monkeys was about the coolest thing ever.

Then I became a teenager, and it suddenly became the opposite of cool, my monkeys were stuffed in the back of a wardrobe somewhere and we all moved on. I lost track of the brand until a few years ago, I saw a standalone Kipling shop in Knightsbridge – I was pleasantly surprised. Suddenly out of nowhere, Kipling was everywhere. The brand appeared to have grown up and gone global.

In 2006, they attracted Isabelle Chéron, former Artistic Director at French luxury label Céline, to give the brand a complete overhaul. Soon there sleek new leather bags, somewhat less obvious monkeys and collaborations with exciting young designers like Cathy Pill, Girls from Omsk and most recently, Peter Pilotto. Snapping the Pilotto boys was a real coup for the brand, as the Kipling collaboration has been everywhere in the past few months! I too own the Peter Pilotto shopper, which has become my loyal companion to the supermarket and the gym because it’s so sturdy. Just because it’s functional doesn’t mean it can’t be stylish. Fact.

Now with Belgian supermodel Anouck Lepère on board as the face of the label, Kipling has become a real celebration of all things fashionably Belgian, which is why I’m so excited about what I get to give away to you guys…

The absolutely amazing people at Kipling have offered not 1 but 3 bags to some very lucky winners. Great or what? Oh wait, it gets even better…

The 3 winners will get to choose any of the handbags of their choice. Then, if those 3 winners send a picture of themselves with their bag, they’ll get to pick an extra bag for every season next year – so 3 more bags coming! Simply put, you can win 4 bags.

Yesterday I asked people to email me, and I got such fun emails from people entering the competition, I want to do it again. Don’t worry, you can also enter this one even if you entered this one!

Here’s what you do:
1: Send me an email at ME@ALEXLOVES.COM telling me which bag you’d pick if you won and why. The bags you can win can be any of the HANDBAG section only. Make sure you add Kipling Competition in the subject!
2. Then go and “Like” Alex Loves and Kipling on Facebook.
3. Competition closes this Thursday, Dec 2nd at 4pm GMT, after which I will choose a winner from the entries at random. I will contact the winners for their details and choice of bag. I’ll also announce all the winners on here, of course!
