Frieze Art Fair 2010

Most of last week was spent going to art-related events, like going to the opening of Frieze Art Fair in Regent’s Park. The preview is the best time to go, because it’s relatively quiet and you can actually have a good, up-close look at the works. Frieze is HUGE – it’s several tents packed with the world’s biggest galleries flogging their artists, so you need a good few hours to do it all. I went several times, because I like art, I like the crowd – art people can outdress the fashion crowd any day! Also, it was Birkin bag galore! – I like the pop-up cafe’s, the amazing Koenig bookstore and the fact that one of my oldest, childhood friends came from NY with his gallery, so I could pop by for a chat.

There were several performances, film, especially commissioned projects for Frieze, a huge sculpture park outside, so all in all, truly worth a visit for any art lover. Here’s my impression of the fair in pictures, hope you like, and do try to visit next year, it’s really good fun!

I adored the restaurant/cafe in the VIP tent hosted by Sketch this year. The food and sweets were delicious and gorgeously presented, the coffee possibly even better, and the cow-shaped milkjug… well, if anyone can tell me where to get one, let me know!
