As most of you who follow me on Twitter or on Facebook already know, I spent the past few days in Paris, living my wildest fantasy. A while ago I was contacted by Chanel, who apparently had been reading my blog for some time, whether I’d be interested in covering the SS11 show for their Chanel News. This would be the first time they used an outside person to to write for the website, this would be the first time I got to blog for a brand like this, so this was exciting for the both of us. To say I was flattered, humbled, excited, over the moon, overjoyed, … would be an understatement. If you know me – or my blog – then you know that I am a true Chanel lover, a fan. I pray to the House of Coco, basically. I didn’t need to think about this, of course!
Keeping a secret about such great news was a nightmare, but I managed to hold my tongue and so this Monday I was given a tour around the amazing Rue Cambon offices, saw some of the casting in action, saw the infamous stairs on which Coco Chanel herself always sat during her shows. If it had all ended there, it would have been more than enough for me, but this was really just the beginning. I was given free reign and a backstage pass on the day. I was introduced to Karl Lagerfeld (and no photographers around to capture that moment, sadly!), sat front row, snapped away the entire preshow, show and aftershow action – in short I got to live every girl’s wildest dream! For the full story on what I got up to the entire day, you’ll just have to read the post I wrote for Chanel News tomorrow!
Below you’ll find just a few of my favourite snaps of the day, from backstage to the endless stream of celebs to the fashionable crowd. The actual show I’ve decided to do in a separate blogpost, as I think it deserves as much.
One of my favourite parts of the day was snapping the attendees. There were so many people dressed head-to-toe in Chanel, it was just insane! As if was as if everyone was there to pay homage to the brand we all love and adore, and showing it by wearing every possible item in their possession. The variety of tweed jackets, shoes, jewellery but most of all bags was just a sight for sore eyes for any Chanel lovers.

To say that this was a dream come true would be a lie – not even in my wildest dreams did I ever think this could happen to me. To just go to the Chanel show was a lifelong dream – to do all of this, well… this was a true Cinderella moment! It’s been less than a year since I started my blog and never did I even begin to think the things that are happening to me right now would ever happen.
Thank you so much to wonderful Team Chanel for giving me the opportunity to have this experience, I enjoyed, loved and appreciated every minute of it. Thanks for taking the time to show me around, introduce me to everyone, letting me use your office, and just making all of this happen! Merci beaucoup!

P.S. If this was all a dream, no need to wake me up. It’s lovely.
