Katie Eary & Catwalk Genius Party

One of the designs

Last night I went to a party to celebrate the launch of Katie Eary‘s first ever public-funded collection in collaboration with Catwalk Genius, whose blog I sometimes guestblog for. If you don’t know Catwalk Genius yet, check out my post on it here – in short, the public can buy shares in a designer’s collection, which will be put into production when it reaches its funding goal. This is the first to reach its £5000 target. Katie Eary is already a pretty well-known menswear designer in the London scene, but this is her very first womenswear collection. It is limited edition, so when it comes out, be sure to snap it quickly!

The location for the party could not have been more perfectly suited to the colours and prints of her collection: at the Architecture Foundation near London Bridge, where there’s currently an installation called “Moss Your City”. It is, indeed, moss.

The whole night was absolutely lovely. Met many blogger friends – some new, some old – and being bloggers we all took advantage of the massive photo-op the moss installation provided. Call us posers, we’ll just call it our next blogpost.

Met the lovely Amy from Wolf Whistle, whose massive gold A necklace I practically ripped off her neck for a picture. Was pretty sad to find out it was from Topshop, but not in shops anymore. I also snapped the gorgeous Isabelle OC as she was posing when we walked in. Also there was my friend Kate from Fabric of My Life, new pal and cool dude all round Luke wearing leather shorts and love of my life Fiona of Save Our Shoes.

Being the confused person I am, I completely forgot to take a picture of the star of the night, Katie Eary, looking smashing in leopard leotard (fun to say out loud), so I am stealing this picture from miss Isabelle OC’s post on the event.

I’d like to say a very big thank you to the fabulous Helen Brown of Catwalk Genius for having me!
