Hervé Léger AW10 Press Day

The past couple of weeks have been great fun, dashing around town for the endless press days, which has been a reasonably new experience for me as I was on the other side not too long ago. So, it’s nice actually getting to go to them for a change and getting to know all the collections and PR’s for myself.

Some of the collections you just need to see, feel and experience up close to really get a feel of them. Hervé Leger by Max Azria proved to be one of them. I wasn’t much of a fan before (mostly because, being curvy and short, these dresses are the enemy), but I’ve changed my mind. This brand is no longer just about the bandage dresses we saw a few years ago, it is about so much more.

At the AW10 press day today, I saw the insane amount of detailing that goes into one piece, I felt the weight of what looks like a simple dress – you really wouldn’t believe how heavy these things are, until you’ve held one.

The bandage dress has been copied by about every single high street brand in the past couple of years, but none of them as good as… Why? Because of the cheap, light quality of the elastic. Hervé Léger dresses are so thick and sturdy, they are basically the biggest Spanx in the world, but much much prettier (and a wee bit more expensive).

The AW10 collection hits stores in August, I hit the gym tomorrow.

These reminded me a little of Christopher Kane SS07, with those neon flashes:

Pre-fall, so in stores… well, now-ish.

A pre-Fall bolero, just look at the detailing!
