Birthday Giveaway!

Alex Loves 6 months 500x216 Birthday Giveaway!

Time sure flies when you’re having a blast! I realised Alex Loves is turning 6 months this week (Saturday) so I’ve decided to say thank you for all your support with my first ever giveaway.

I’m super excited to announce that my first giveaway will be a print of one of the amazing illustrations my friend Jamie Ball of Little Kingdoms made for one my latest blogposts. The reactions to his work were so great so it seemed like the perfect prize (I’m a little jealous, to be honest!).

Because his first venture in the fashion world was so successful, Jamie has kindly offered one of his prints as a prize. To top it off, he’s slashed the prices of all the Alex Loves pieces in his online shop with 20% for the next 2 weeks.

To win, all you have to do is answer the following question:

“WHAT IS YOUR ULTIMATE CLASSIC FASHION ITEM AND WHY?”

Answer in the comment section, make sure you add your email (and Twitter if you have one), then me and Jamie will pick our favourite answer. The competition ends at 10pm on June 1st. Also include which of the 6 “Alex Loves” prints you’d like to receive. You can see all of them here. The print you’ll receive is the Matted Print. They’ve only just been added to the shop, so no one else owns any of these so far!

Good luck, and thanks for all your support during the past 6 months! Here’s to many more!

Lots of love,
Alex

ps… My pick? EASY! (Shame I can’t enter…)

It would have to be the trench coat because it’s timeless and it doesn’t matter what I wear with it, I always feel chic and elegant when I wear one.
Hard decision…. But I’d love the chanel 2.55 one pleeease!

For me, it has to be pearls. Freshwater ones, to be exact. They’re timelessly classic and infinitely beautiful. They can turn any outfit from bland to chic in an instant. I don’t know what I’d do without them x

Hmm…tough one, but I’d have to say stiletto heels. Despite my towering height 5’11″, just the name insinuates ‘sex bomb’ or ‘pinup’. The fact that stilettos feature in most of my fantasies is beside the point. Also I think the thin heel makes a girl feels thin, and encourage ‘trapeze-like-wiggle’ step, which men seem to like?!

Am I right or is it COSMOgirl’s years of brainwashing thats made me believe all of the above.

oh congratulations on making it to your blogs 6 month birthday! this is such a great giveaway! i really loved the post you did with all the illustrations! also it’s so encouraging to hear about all the nice things that have come your way and people that you’ve met since starting your blog! it’s always nice to hear about blogger love that is going around out there…

ok, so my top classic item would have to be a little black dress. not just any little black dress but the one. i found mine last year before my graduation in bicester village at the valentino shop. i totally wasn’t expecting to see anything i could afford – but there was the most beautiful black dress with a v-back and paneling that makes it very classy but perfectly fitted. it is seriously heaven to wear and i feel like a total knock out every time i get the chance to wear it. i don’t have much designer gear – but knowing i’ve got a valentino little black dress hanging in my closet really is quite special. and i feel like if i’m only going to have a couple designer pieces (for now at least) i’d want it to be a classic… and a LBD is the ultimate in my books.

followed by of course the chanel bag… which i would love to get my hands on one day. in the meantime though i’d love to have a print of it to keep me company. so, if i win your giveaway that is definitely the one i’d select!

here’s to many more 6 month blogger birthdays for you…. xx

Ooh, my timeless fashion piece would have to be my Converses. I go through hi-tops like crazy, in fact, I plan on buying my 3rd pair this year tomorrow. You can wear them with anything, at virtually any function and still look good.

Obviously, my print of course would be the Converse one. Gotta show my love for such a timeless classic!

    Congratulations on the birthday!
I just discovered your blog a couple of weeks ago but I was instantly hooked.

Oh and for the classic: I love discovering new (old/vintage?) clothes in my mom’s closet. I can’t choose one but I can give you a top 3: a classic Hermes scarf (blue lining and golden horse accessories on a white background.. I love how you can wear it with basically anything, I also love wrapping it around my bag’s handles), a pair of huge glasses (they have a superthin black frame with just a tiny bit of white on the sides) and a classic black v-neck long-sleeved sweater (it’s incredibly soft and I just feel instant ‘cosiness’ whenever I put it on).

And of course my favorite print is the Chanel bag (I keep telling myself that “one day… “)

    Classic Burberry Trench.

Timelessly cool. Iconic. And so far out of my budget it makes me cry.

There is Just one True Classic, and that be The Mighty Rayban Wayfarer.
    None Other shall pass.
It’s not only timeless, and has merged itself with our modern day and classic culture, it’s sure to be around for at least another kazillion years.

Congratulations on your 6 months blogger birthday. You have plenty to be proud of! Your blog is such a joy to read!

My classic would have to be a perfectly fitting pair of jeans. Timeless in every sense of the word. Needless to say when you have that perfect Jean you can feel like a million dollars regardless of how much they cost. Its all about the fit and how it makes you feel. The demin market is accessible to all and that way I feel Jeans are such a classic piece. Whether you own a Birkin or on of Primark’s latest edition, a first class fitting jeans can make the world of difference to your confidence and your wardrobe.

My print of choice would have to be the Chanel bag! The epitome of style. It would look great in my room!
