I HATE sales. Yep, I’ve said it. Sure, I like 50% off, but I hate having to rummage through messy racks of clothes, which lack any presentation or respect for the customer. Retailers often chuck in clothes from many seasons past, hoping we wouldn’t notice – but obviously they don’t know Alex. Even if you do find something you like, it’s usually not there in your size. Meanwhile, there’s new season items all bright and shiny just a few racks away, impossible to resist. Why get old if you can get new? Nope, I just don’t ‘do’ sales.
So, this is probably why I’ve never been to Bicester Village or any other outlet shopping centre. The mere thought of having this many outlet stores in one place makes me break out in a sweat. I’ve heard great things about it, but I’ve never really been tempted to go.
Until now.
During LFW, I was handed a flyer for the “British Designers Collective” Pop Up Shop at Bicester Village, in collaboration with the British Fashion Council. From March 31st until May 7th – 6 weeks only – the pop up shop will feature some of LFW’s hottest young talent, pieces from their collection will go on sale for up to -60%, all wonderfully together in one little boutique.
Who, I hear you ask? Ah… well hold on tight… My favouritest designer of all, Erdem, Nicholas Kirkwood, PPQ, House of Holland, Markus Lupfer, Felder Felder, Hannah Marshall, Mark Fast, Emma Cook, Osman, Louise Gray, Sykes, Maria Francesca Pepe, Charlotte Olympia, Marios Schwab, Preen – to name a JUST a few…
To put it mildly – I had a minor stroke when I first read this list of names. I’ll be on the very first train this Wednesday when the shop opens and I figure out where the hell Bicester Village actually is.

Beautiful video from Foals for the gorgeous first single Spanish Sahara from their upcoming album Total Life Forever (due out in May). It’s a slower, more grown up sound for the band, I’m quite excited to hear the rest of the album now!
If you’ve got a few minutes to spare, check out www.totallifeforever.co.uk. At the end of the 10 ‘puzzles’ you’ll receive a special remix of the single. I could just post the direct link to how to get there, but where’s the fun in that?
