Topshop has been a big sponsor of London Fashion Week for many years now. Their NEWGEN (New Generation) scheme has been a wonderful way for showcasing and promoting young designers and their businesses. As well as financial aid, they also get mentoring and support for up to 4 years, to get them well and truly on their way. Some of them get to design a capsule collection to be sold in Topshop Boutique.
Just some of the names to have been awarded this prestigious prize in recent years include Alexander McQueen, Matthew Williamson, Christopher Kane, Marios Schwab, Richard Nicoll, my beloved Erdem and currently Peter Pilotto, Mark Fast
Mary Katrantzou, Meadham Kirchhoff.
And so, every season, to celebrate London Fashion Week Topshop want to share the fashion love with becomes a hotspot for events open to the general public all week long.
Here’s a sneak peek of what’s going on in store this week, from 19-23 February:
Daily (almost live) coverage on large screens from the Topshop venue in Covent Garden featuring the catwalk shows from Christopher Kane, Topshop Unique, Meadham Kirchhoff, Mark Fast, Mary Katrantzou, Richard Nicoll, Marios Schwab, Louise Goldin and more.
