After a wonderful 6 days in New York I’m loaded with a suitcase full of purchases and new ideas, met some really wonderful people, spread the AlexLoves love. I’m also suffering from a pretty bad jetlag, so forgive me for being a bit slow in the next few days!
At Phillip Lim‘s Mercer Street store I fell in love with the 3.1 Phillip Lim Eyewear, which I’d never really seen before. Manufactured by NY-based company Modo, I decided to pay their shop a visit, where they had an even bigger choice (252 Mott Street in SoHo). As I was currently in the market for some new opticals, I immediately I fell for the Chloris model. They are a thick rimmed Wayfarer inspired model, in a variety of colours – I especially liked the green Tortoise – and a very subtle P.L. logo on the side. I ended up settling for the quite modest Matte Black version. They sell for $225, and are only available through Phillip Lim and Modo, who do not currently sell their optical models online, so for now they’re still pretty exclusive.
If it’s sunglasses you’re after, do have a look at the online Modoshop, as they manufacture those of Phillip Lim (men and women), Derek Lam and Jason Wu (men and women), so often have a bigger choice than anyone else out there!
