I was writing a little post on my other project – His or Hers – on the amazing buckle sandals from Surface to Air, when I realised this collective deserved a shoutout all on their own.

Surface to Air was founded in 2000 in Paris, by a group of creatives who have left a serious mark in the fashion, music and art worlds over the past decade.

First and foremost there’s S2A’s fashion line for both men and women, which consists of contemporary, clean-cut and high quality items. The understated simplicity of the collection has an almost Scandinavian feel to it, which I’m a real sucker for these days. Less is more, and all that. They sell in their own stores in Paris and Sao Paolo, online and in top retailers such as Barneys and Le Bon Marché.

The collective has grown over the years to include a Film department, directing commercials and music videos – many of which you’ll have seen: Justice’s We Are Your Friends, anyone? – and an agency department responsible for the Art Direction of several high profile clients…

Anyway, before this turns into even more of an ode to S2A, I’ll shut myself up and let some images of the current collection do the talking.
