Beyonce rocks in Gareth Pugh
Kudos where kudos are deserved, and at yesterday’s MTV 2008 EMA’s, Beyonce Knowles deservedly got some credibility in the fashion stakes with her choice of outfits.
Not once, but twice she chose to wear Gareth Pugh. Yes, this is the same Beyonce who also designs House of Dereon and has an epic list of questionable outfit choices during her Destiny’s Child era.
If I’d expected any pop-tart to rock the Pugh, it would have been Rihanna, or maybe even Christina since her Lady Gaga-makeover. But Beyonce?
On top of that, she looked pretty great in them too. Her red carpet dress was from the new S/S 09 collection, whereas her performance dress was still from this A/W season.
Having the 2 seasons displayed so prominently next to each other, it’s pretty obvious how much Gareth Pugh has tamed down and commercialised his latest collection for his move to the Paris catwalks.
But either way, job well done Ms. Knowles, as Tyra would say, you looked fierce.
